Earthy Eggers
Our goal here at Luciah Acres are deep earthy tones of browns and olives. We have beautiful Black Copper Marans roosters covering our group of hens that are mixed breeds. We don't focus on the breed of chicken, we focus on the beautiful egg colors. We keep a small flock of about 25 hens and two roosters to keep our fertility high and our girls not over bred. Our chickens have good docile temperaments and are happy and healthy. We currently are in the works to have NPIP testing done and will be able to ship eggs to other states.
Chicks
Hatching starts each year January through May. I typically hatch once a month and will have the hatching schedule posted below and pinned to the top of our Facebook page. Chicks are $8 each and straight run. (straight run means they are not sexed.) I keep a list of those interested in each months hatch and reach out to everyone in the order they got on the list. I do not separate chicks by egg color. Chicks can lay various earthy shades of browns, tans & olives. A lot of our eggs have speckling.

Hatching Eggs
We sell hatching eggs for $50 per dozen. If they are shipped they are $75 and that includes shipping. Shipped eggs always include a couple extras. When I have hatching eggs available they will be posted on our social media accounts. I post them by the dozen and they are always hens choice.

DISCLAIMER:
We do not guarantee hatch rate on our hatching eggs. Our eggs are checked for good fertility and test hatched often. Many things play into good hatch rates such as being shipped and how they were handled during that time along with the quality of incubator being used. Once the eggs leave our farm, it is beyond our control. We package and ship them in protected foam shippers and shredded paper. Also note that once an egg has started incubation it can not be checked for fertility. The bullseye can not be found and is not accurate.
