OUR STORY

Luciah Acres, LLC is a small family-owned farm specializing in breeding and raising Registered Kunekunes and our very own Earthy Egger Chickens. My husband and I started this thing with just a couple backyard chickens and our farm has totally blossomed from there.

Before we were an "actual farm", we were just a couple of people who owned backyard chickens. We have owned chickens since 2015 and I truly fell in love with them that year. My husband, Ryan, was the one who originally wanted chickens. I told him no time and time again, until I had finally caved. Little did he know, what he was getting into. We started off with six Isa Browns and a couple years later we decided to add a couple more. Chicken math happened and we went from six to twenty in a matter of weeks.

Over the years we have had our fair share of poultry and waterfowl. Chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, guineas....you name it and we've probably had it. On top of birds, we have also had goats. We had two fainters and a Nigerian dwarf. The fainters were named Waylon and Merle, and our Nigerian was named Dolly. We had every intention on using Dolly to do 4H with our son, but then 2020 happened and we decided to take our farm in a different direction....pigs!

So here we are, with a bunch of adorable Kunekunes and our Earthy Egger chickens that truly have our hearts. We love all of our livestock, and love all the piglets and chicks until they go off to their new homes. Our goals with Kunekunes is to breed them true and to always be improving for our pork goals. Our goals with the chickens are to breed the most beautiful speckled, earthy toned eggs from chickens with heavily feathered legs and docile personalities. These animals truly are amazing!
